Enjoy the Saunas

It is easy and pleasant to take a sauna in Fagerhult. We have a sauna with electric heater in the house where the washing machine is located and a wood-fired sauna by the lake.

The sauna by the laundry room is open, just put it on and enjoy. The left steering wheel is used to turn on and off. The right knob is used to set the heat. Let it stand at max! And turn off the sauna when you're done.

The wood-fired sauna is accessed by the path on the left-hand side towards the lake just outside the large entrance gate. The sauna is locked, there are keys in every house. There is hopefully a basket of dry firewood next to the sauna stove when you arrive. Use it and feel free to refill it when you have finished bathing so that the next visitor has dry wood.

Wood for the sauna is in the woodshed at the front. The sauna heater can take long wood pieces, but if they are still too long, you can saw as much as you need with the saw that hangs on the side of the woodshed. Feel free to swim in the lake but take it easy if it is cold.

Sit on a towel or similar in the sauna! If you want a beer, there usually is one in the fridge. Swish SEK 20 per beer to 070 5712520 or pay cash in the little box.

Like in the old days

Fagerhult is a beautiful spot with two small farms in the county of Östergötland, close to the border of Småland.

You turn off the main road and go 2000 meters through the forest, and there it is: classical Swedish red houses and barns, surrounded by an open landscape with a little lake and meadows with grazing sheep and goats and lots of cherry trees.

Fagerhult and it’s surroundings can offer you different kinds of recreation in nature – swimming, fishing, canoeing and walking  – or just some restful quiet days.

The houses

Left: Lower farm with two bedrooms (seven beds), livingroom, kitchen and bathroom.  and in background Karin's house with three bedrooms (8 beds), kitchen, living room and bathroom.
Middle: Little cottage with one bedroom (4 beds), kitchen/livingroom, and bathroom.
Right: Upper farm with two bedrooms( (seven beds), kitchen, livingroom, veranda and bathroom.
